A Curio Cat student has been accepted to present at this incredible conference! The 2023 OCEANS Gulf Coast conference is a joint event of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society and The Marine Technology Society. 2023 Yale Graduate School – CurioCat Student Wins $425,000 Fellowship

A Curio Cat student has been awarded a fellowship to attend Yale University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The fellowship provides for full tuition of $46,900/year and a stipend of $37,950/year. Over its 5-year lifetime, this fellowship is worth $425,000. Great work! We are so proud of you! A CurioCat student has been accepted to the 2022 IEEE/ACM Big Data Computing, Applications, and Technologies conference! This CORE-rated conference, jointly held by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), will take place December 6-9, 2022 in Portland, OR. 2022 Vanderbilt University – CurioCat Student Awarded Full 4-Year Scholarship!!!

A CurioCat student was admitted into Vanderbilt University! Additionally, this CurioCat student was selected as a Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarship recipient. As such, the CurioCat student will receive 4 years of FREE TUITION! 2022 UC Berkeley SEED Scholars Honors Program – CurioCat Student named a Finalist!

A CurioCat student has been named a Finalist for the UC Berkeley SEED Scholars Honors Program! Per UC Berkeley, “the SEED program is a four-year comprehensive honors program serving minoritized individuals in the STEM – science, technology, engineering, and math – fields, who have a passion for science, research, and a commitment to pursuing a graduate degree. The program provides need-based scholarships, resources, and opportunities to diverse, highly motivated, top-tier students who will become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow in academia, science, technology, and industry”. The SEED Scholars program provides a renewable need-based scholarship of up to $10,000 a year along with a research stipend of up to $10,000 per year. Click below to see the exciting Finalist email:

2022 UC Berkeley Regents’ & Chancellors’ Scholarship – CurioCat Student named a Finalist!

A CurioCat student has been named a Finalist for the UC Berkeley Regents’ and Chancellors’ Scholarship. Candidates are chosen for their “creativity, leadership, service, and strong convictions”. In sum, candidates embody UC Berkeley’s highest principle: the commitment to excellence. Scholars with financial need are awarded a scholarship up to their full need. 2022 Stanford University – CurioCat Student Accepted!

A CurioCat student was admitted into Stanford University. For the Class of 2025, i.e., those who applied in 2021, Stanford accepted 2,050 students out of 44,073 applicants. This is an admit rate of 4.7%. According to US News & World Report, Stanford University has the No. 1 ranked Computer Science Program in the country and the No. 2 ranked Undergraduate Engineering Program in the country. 2022 Regeneron Science Talent Search – CurioCat Student Makes Top 300!

A CurioCat student was named one of the Top 300 Finalists for the 2022 Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS). The Regeneron Science Talent Search, formerly known as the Westinghouse Science Talent Search and Intel Science Talent Search, is a research based science competition for high school seniors. It is commonly referred to as the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science competition. Congratulations!

2021 National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) $2000 Momentum Grant – CurioCat Student Wins!!!

A CurioCat student was awarded a 2021 NSTA $2000 Momentum Grant! This award is given to students who display positive character qualities and a commitment to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The NSTA allotted 3 of these $2000 awards to students in the Southern California region. The CurioCat student will spend this grant money on STEM activities taking place Summer 2021. 2021 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) – CurioCat student wins 4th Place in Engineering Mechanics

A CurioCat student won 4th Place at the prestigious 2021 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. The student also received a $500 cash prize. 2021 Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair (LACSEF) Cheryl Saban Self-Worth Foundation for Women and Girls 2nd Senior Award

A CurioCat student captured more cash prizes than any of the other 285 competitors at the 2021 LACSEF. The biggest prize was the Cheryl Saban Self-Worth Foundation for Women and Girls 2nd Senior Award. A 1st Senior Award and a 2nd Senior Award is given to the top two projects by female scholars with a focus on providing a positive impact to the community. Along with this honor, the student won a $1,250 cash prize!!! Although winning money is not the focus of science research, the student’s winnings will help finance future work and education.

2021 Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair (LACSEF) David Park Foundation 1st Place Scholar Award

A CurioCat student won the David Park Foundation 1st Place Scholar Award at the 2021 LACSEF! This award is given to the most outstanding project related to innovation and technology. Along with this honor, the student won a $750 cash prize!

2021 Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair (LACSEF) Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG) Marylin Jorgenson-Reece Award of Excellence

A CurioCat student won the PECG Marylin Jorgensen-Reece Award of Excellence at the 2021 LACSEF!! This award is given to the best engineering related project. Along with this honor, the student won a $500 cash prize!

2021 MIT Research Science Institute – CurioCat Student Accepted!

A CurioCat student has been accepted into the extremely prestigious MIT Research Science Institute (RSI)!! Per the MIT Mathematics Department, MIT RSI accepts 80 applicants out of 3000, for an acceptance rate of ~ 2%. According to Wikipedia, “Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honors for high school students, RSI brings together the top STEM talent from around the world for the opportunity to conduct original scientific research, cost-free, for six weeks during the summer, before their final year of high school.” Click below to see the exciting acceptance email:
